It's All About "The U"
In ESPN's 30 for 30 sports film series, tonight they premiered the highly anticipated "The U" by Billy Corben. It chronicled the Hurricanes rise in the 1980's amidst racial turmoil and a drug epidemic in Miami. The documentary was awesome for any college football fan, particularly a fan of "The U." "The U" is always a lightning rod for controversy in college football and they have just as many fans as they do critics. Through all the criticism Miami football has been through, and most of it being legitimate and some of it being based on perception, it doesn't hide the fact that they have produced so many Pro Bowlers and potential Hall-of-Famers. "The U" has seen a resurgence this year under Randy Shannon and new quarterback Jacory Harris and the program looks like they are headed in the right direction for the first time in years. But for tonight, it was all about "The U."
