For the first time since 1954 and since they moved to San Francisco, the Giants have won the World Series. Behind a dominant pitching performance from Tim Lincecum, the Giants shut down the Rangers bats in 5 games with the 3-1 victory Monday night in Arlington. Edgar Renteria knocked in all 3 runs for the Giants tonight.

Say what you want about this group of guys, but they went out and were dominant in all 3 of their series'. Their starting pitching was electric, they hit when they needed to and Brian Wilson was dominant when it mattered. Congratulations to former Phillies' Aaron Rowand and Pat Burrell who each earned their 2nd rings. Edgar Renteria was named MVP, 13 years after getting the game winning hit for the Marlins in the 1997 World Series. Not bad for a guy who wasn't even playing everyday earlier in the playoffs.

Kudos to Brian Sabean, Giants GM, who went out and grabbed a lot of key players including Burrell, Cody Ross and bringing up Buster Posey to go along with their pitching staff.
